What does a Skincare coach do?

A skin care coach holds you accountable. They select the best products for your skin, create a routine based on your lifestyle, and serve as your partner throughout the process. Plus, you'll save money by using a skin care coach as you'll no longer buy products that don't work for you and end up going in the trash.

Why do I need a Skin Coach?

To make an educated decision on your skincare and make up with the help of licensed skin professionals.

What do I need for my first consult?

Pictures of your products (skincare + makeup) and a filled out health questionnaire. You will also need to download zoom onto your laptop or desktop.

Will I still need medical/pharmaceutical grade products?

Yes—they are more concentrated and better quality.

When should I use retinol?

Use retinol at night - and introduce it gradually into your system. During the day, always use SPF.

Why should I use retinol?

Retinol has many beneficial uses. You can use it to combat acne and pigmentation. It also helps with cell turnover and evening skin tone as well as to smooth fine lines and wrinkles.

What is hyaluronic acid and when should I use it?

Hyaluronic acid is a humectant that attracts water in the skin, making the skin appear more plump and firm. Think of it as a refreshing drink of water for your skin. People with dehydrated skin as well as oily skin should use Hyaluronic acid AM and PM.

What ingredients should be in my sunscreen?

Look for SPF ingredients in your sunscreen such as titanium dioxide, zinc oxide and iron oxides.

How often should I apply SPF?

Every two hours if you are in the sun or immediately after you are out of the water.

What are AHAs?

AHA refers to alpha hydroxy acids, a group of natural acids found in fruit, sugar cane and milk. They are used in skin care to help exfoliate dead skin cells and treat specific concerns. Not all cosmetics that contain alpha hydroxy acid have the concentration information on the label. We suggest you use products that identify the concentration of active ingredients.

What is micro needling?

Micro needling is a popular procedure using tiny needle pricks to treat acne scars, wrinkles, large pores, and more. It’s minimally invasive and has a quick recovery time.

How often should I be doing micro needling?

That depends on your skin concern – and we’ll talk about that during your consultation. You may end up using it once monthly, quarterly or yearly.

What is the downtime from micro needling?

In most cases, people require one to two days of downtime.

Should I change my skin care products?

The short answer is yes. Change them with the seasons. As you’ve probably already noticed, your skin is more oily in the summer and drier in the winter.

Why do I have bags under my eye?

The tissue around your eyes, including some of the muscles that support your eyelids weaken as you get older. Your symptoms may include mild swelling, saggy or loose skin or dark circles. This is usually harmless and doesn’t require medical care.

Where do the brown spots on my faced come from?

Most brown spots or hyperpigmented lesions are caused by overexposure to sun or can emerge as after an injury to the skin as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH).
